Welcome to the Borough of Mayfield

The Municipality of Mayfield is a wonderful bedroom community located in the heart of northeastern Pennsylvania.  Mayfield Borough was first settled in 1771 and officially incorporated as a borough in 1881.

Mayfield Borough is governed by a mayor and seven-member legislative council.  The mayor as well as council members are elected to four-year terms, which are staggered.  A borough secretary is available during business hours to answer any inquiries.

Mayfield Borough is a great residential community and an excellent place to raise a family.  The community has three (3) volunteer fire companies as well as a combination paid/volunteer EMS service that has an exceptional response time to any home or business in the borough.  Our police department consisting of two (2) fulltime and ten (10) part time officers, provides around-the-clock protection and service. Our public works department ensures that our streets are plowed, our public facilities are maintained and that the municipality looks great year-round.

Mayfield offers a wide verity of outdoor activities at the Anna L. McCarthy Park, located next to the municipal building, which include: basketball and tennis courts, as well as a playground for younger children.  A little league baseball and softball field are also available for use in the summer months  on the east side of town.  Additional baseball and softball fields are located at the Lakeland School District’s Mayfield Elementary Campus.

Mayfield Borough is currently located in the Lakeland School District and home to their Mayfield Elementary Campus.  Mayfield Borough is also home to St. John’s Russian Orthodox Cathedral.

Mayfield Borough is located between two (2) major highways, Business Route #6 and The Governor Robert P. Casey Highway.  Both  provide easy access to the rest of the county as well as a quick connection to other major highways such as I-81, I-380, I-84 and I-80.

We’re sure you’ll agree Mayfield Borough’s services and amenities make it one of northeastern Pennsylvania’s upcoming communities.
